Live And Let Live: The dictum deals with a practical philosophy of lie. It means that one should tolerate others even though one differs with them in terms of thought and behavior. Others have their own right of thinking over issues of national importance. One should not foist one’s views on others in a forcible manner.

If one has to have a recourse to force, it would create most unpleasant consequences. The best course is to grant the right to others as one has. There can be no uniformity in modes of life. There are different modes of life and each has its own justification. Hence one should reconcile to the existence of diversity. Diversity presents contrast which lends charms and fascination to life.

There are different ideologies in life, like capitalism and communism. Upholders of ideologies are poised against each other. That gives rise to confrontation at the international level. If they confine themselves to their belief and strive to implement their ideology much of the friction giving rise to confrontation would come to end.

If both had belief in the philosophy: live and let life, the society can be rid of violence and crime. In other words, peaceful co-existence should be the guiding principle to regulate the conduct and behavior of both the parties in the society.
